The future of a family lies in the education and employability of the youth. That's why we launched the Vidya Vahini Education Loan scheme to enable youth from poor, rural backgrounds to continue education in Government colleges, specifically for Diploma and Degree courses that improve their chances for employment.
Product Information
This loan product is designed to cater to the needs of rural poor who find it difficult to send their wards to college for higher education or vocational training. The loan can be used for an ITI/Diploma/Graduation degree in Government colleges only.Eligibility
Wards of SHG group members who have availed General Purpose Loan at least once are eligible for this loan product.
Quantum of Loan
The maximum loan amount under the scheme is INR 15000/- and if the ward stays in a hostel the maximum loan is INR 25000/- subject to cash flow of the household.
The loan must be repaid within a maximum period of 24 months in monthly instalments.
Interest rate
Variable. Fixed in accordance with RBI Guidelines
