About Mr. Vijay Bhaskar
Mr. Vijay Bhaskar, Professional Non Executive Director, a Government Official belonging to Indian Administrative Service, joined IAS in 1983. He is aged 64 years and hails from Bengaluru. Mr. Vijay Bhaskar is a Post graduate in Economics and has Masters in Business Administration from University of Birmingham. He retired as Chief Secretary, Government of Karnataka upon superannuation on 31st December 2020 after 37 years of illustrious and unblemished service. In these 37 years, he worked for more than 8 years in various capacities in State level Education administration and 9 years in Rural Development at national and state levels. The remaining years are in district administration and coordination. Most of the working experience is in the fields of basic needs like water supply, sanitation, school education, roads, agricultural development. After his retirement, Govt of Karnataka appointed him as the Chairperson of the Karnataka Administrative Reforms Commission 2 (KARC2) in January, 2021. The KARC2 has submitted three reports so far to Government of Karnataka.
